HDB Launches First BTO in 2014

The HDB has announced today the launching of six Build-To-Order (BTO), offering total of 3,139 new flats in four non-mature towns namely, Bukit Batok, Jurong West, Punggol and Woodlands, as well as one mature towns Serangoon. Below are the project names:

The new flats launched will comprises of Studio Apartments (SAs), 2-room to 5-room, as well as 3Gen flats to meet the housing needs for first and second timers, multi-generation families, elderly and singles.

This is the first batch of BTO to be release amidst of the  24,300 units that has been planned for 2014. While for the rest of the year, the HDB will be launching BTO across various towns including Hougang, Jurong West, Kallang Whampoa, Sembawang, Sengkang, Tampines, Toa Payoh, Yishun and towns which was mentioned earlier.

First-Timers Priority

First-timers will continue to enjoy priority flat allocation, with at least 85% for 4-room and 5-room and 70% for 2-room and 3-room of the BTO flats in non-mature towns/estates. Eligible first-timer singles have the option to apply for a 2-room flat in Punggol Vue or Woodlands Glen.

3Gen Flats For Married/Courting Couples

Couples that wishes to apply for a 3Gen flat together with their parents can apply for one in Punggol BayView. Other multi-generation families who wishes to live in the same BTO project can apply under the Multi-Generaion Priority Scheme (MGPS) 1 and there will be flats set aside in Bukit Gombak Vista, Punggol Vue, Punggol BayView and Woodlands Glen for this purpose. Additionally, 50% of the Studio Apartment supply in Bukit Gombak Vista, Golden Ginger and Golden Lavender will be reserved for elderly applicants under Studio Apartment Priority Scheme (SAPS).

CPF Housing Grants

Eligible first-timer households can enjoy up to $60,000 of housing grants, comprising the Additional CPF Housing Grant (up to $40,000) and Special CPF Housing Grant (up to $20,000). With the grant, 2-room, 3-room, 4-room and 5-room flats are priced from $13,000, $95,000, $199,000, $383,000 respectively. Further information can be found on HDB.

Application for Jan 2014 BTO Exercise

Application for the BTO flats can be submitted via online from today 22 Jan 2014 (Wed) to 28 Jan 2014 (Tues). Eligible applicants can apply for only one flat type in one town only.

Eco-feature As A New Start

Starting from the current BTO Launch, the HDB will be introducing a standard suite of eco-features public housing development, which will help to better manage waste, water and energy more efficiently. Some of the features includes using eco-pedestals in bathrooms which recycle water for toilet flushing, LED lighting with motion sensor controls and regenerative lifts that helps to lower energy consumption. There will be also a Centralised Chutes for recyclables (CCR) to promote recycling.

Adoption A More Environmentally Friendly Mode of Transport

There will be also more covered bicycle parking lots and bicycle wheel ramps to encourage residents to adopt a more environmentally friendly approach for transport. It is part of the HDB continuing effort to build a environmentally homes for the residents.

Next BTO Launch

The next BTO launch will be in March 2014 and HDB will be offering about 3,500 new flats in Sembawang, Sengkang and Yishun. More information will be release at HDB Infoweb.
