Funan DigitalLife Mall undergoes Major Revamp, Expected Completion in 2019

Developers CapitaLand has celebrated the groundbreaking on 7th September 2016 for the revamp of the current Funan DigitalLife Mall which is expected its completion in 2019. It also marks the first time the IT mall closed it doors on June 30 after operating for 31 years.

The redevelopment of the mall will double its current floor area to 887,000 sqft including two office towers, serviced residences and retail stores space.

The mall will retains its base business by selling IT products, but the mall will be incorporating tech experience throughout the entire development. The new integrated development will also include a Golden Village cinema, indoor climbing gym, as well as a click-and-collect shopping experience.

The retail stores will be spread over six storeys, contributing a total net floor area of 324,000 sqft. It will be divided into three broad themes: Tech, Fit and Taste.

On Tech

Golden Village's new cineplex will offer a multi-sensory experience using the latest technology for cinematic experience.

On Fitness

Climb Central will offer a 50-lane rock climbing facility with its highest wall spanning up to the 4th storey.

There will also be a futsal court, gym and a flexible space that can be turned into a basketball court at night using laser projections.

Indoor cycling lanes will also be incorporated into the new building, with bike shops, bike cafes, lockers and shower facilities available for the cyclists.

On Taste

Kopitiam will operate a high-tech food court called KOPItech, which will features robotic vacuum cleaners and self-ordering kiosks.

The mall will also feature a six-storey wooden and steel structure called The Tree Of Life, which will be the centrepiece of the complex. It will be used to house open spaces and studios that promote new forms of retail and learning, such s spaces for local designers and makers to showcase their craft and conduct classes.

To further enhance on shopping experience, Funan will also be offering an window-to-online shopping, which allows the shoppers to collect their purchases via drive-through at Funan's concierge.
